New beginnings

As morning woke the moment,
I knew the die was cast,
yesterday could live no more;
and hope now called on trust.
 It was a feeble calling,
and yet it held me close.

This weekend we're asking for 33 words about a new beginning.

  2. It sounds like something was done that can't be taken back...? I hope this doesn't lead to a bad new beginning...

    1. Everything is a lesson. There is no good or bad - just the experience.

  4. I agree with Draug - it feels like something bad happened (from the die being cast, and the feeble call to hope.) I'm a little nervous about what kind of beginning could come of this...

  5. My mind wandered on this one to a past love, in the beginning, hoping that after we parted in the morning, he would call. Said so well.

  6. Love the opening line "as morning woke the moment." It seems that a new day can always be so tremulous. Sad and lovely.

    1. No, nothing bad has happened in recent times.... it is a remembering of times past.
